After the non-stop production and performance of 2014 we are using part of 2015 to take stock and do repairs and reorganise our storage and wardrobe. Nevertheless we have something rather unusual in store for later in the year.
The Gift of Stones by Jim Crace is an extraordinary novel set in a community of flint tool makers some 4000 years ago! It explores the origins of story telling, and a favourite North Country theme, truth, fiction, and the willing suspension of disbelief, in other words theatre itself. In summer 2015 we will be devising and scripting through drama workshops, the first UK stage adaptation of this award-winning novel and then producing in the autumn.
